Foundation grant application system activation continues; however, Dennis’ generosity already has impacted animal lives in a big way. Rio Rancho’s Watermelon Ranch tells us that his contribution has “enabled us to continue our mission and save even more lives.” Through Dennis’ direct bequest, the Ranch has fielded some major animal medical bills. Their executive director relays this message: “Dogs like Darla, Spanky, and Penelope say thank you.” She adds, “I wish there were words for how grateful we truly are. Thank you from the bottom of our paws.”

CARMA (Companion Animal Rescue & Medical Assistance) has a new Cattery and adoption center!

Thanks to a grant from Dennis Friends Foundation, CARMA was able to build the new facility at the Corrales Kennel in Corrales, New Mexico.

CARMA rescues all cats and kittens taken in by Corrales Animal Services, so this new building provides a home for many felines, as well as a place for people to visit and play with the cats before adopting them.

The building is equipped with plumbing, three rooms to keep cats isolated (such as newborn kittens or cats with behavioral issues), a catio porch, big windows with a view of the kennel’s chickens and turkeys, a loft, and plenty of space to climb, lounge, hide, snuggle, and play.
